  The process of this film was overall a learning experience. Throughout this whole experience, we've learned some things outside of what we have gained in our media knowledge. Based on how this film represents any social groups or issues. This film represents anxiety. as you can see in some of the scenes, one friend is a little off and she might be anxious about shopping or some other underlying problem that she has . In today's world, people don't take anxiety so serious. Some make jokes about it and just push it on the back burner personally and to others. This Product, however, shows that our friends are considering what is wrong with her, or seems that something is bothering her, but there is one friend that's denying that she's fine. She also could be leaving her friends in the dark and not letting them know about her issue. Which creates the name of our product and it connects the whole idea together that she's hiding something and not letting her friends...

 So on March sixteenth, we started editing. Jeni has decided to take matters into her own hands and start editing process. We just give her the clips that we filmed and help her on what to add in the transitions so far everything has been doing good. The process has been going smooth the only mishap that we have is that we don’t know if we have enough filmed. Further, we have to make up our minds about the music in the background so we don’t have a it to be a bland sound movie. As time goes on, we might have to film more because we need a five minute short film and this just might be only a quarter of it. We might have to add some credit scenes and maybe some bloopers but that might not be in the rubric. so we will fall back on that as a back up. 

  We scheduled a day to meet on set and began discussing the changes we needed to make. We went over the feedback in detail, brainstorming ways to improve the pacing, acting, and overall tone of the film. We started by setting up the camera and lighting equipment, making sure that everything was in the right position. We then rehearsed the scenes a few times, making sure that the timing and blocking were improved. Melvin helped with the lighting, ensuring that the shadows were used to improve the mood of the film. As we filmed the retakes, we went over all the feedback. We were all working together towards a common goal, and it was a great feeling to see the improvements that we were making. When we wrapped up the final retakes, we all felt a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. We knew that we had done everything we could to make the film the best it could be. We all congratulated each other on a job well done, and I felt grateful to have such a supportive and talented group ...

  Another production day has arrived but still there’s something missing. This day we planned on filming but something happened . One of my group mates had rehearsal and another had a personal mishap happen. Also, Transportation was a big factor in this filming day. No one was reallyclear on if they were able to meet up. Therefore, We couldn’t really all meet up at the same time because of different things we have to do on our schedules . Because of that we weren’t able to feel today. However, we did come up with some ideas of what to do. Based on the editing, Jeni would be in charge of that. We can help her in some ways but she has a strong sort of that. I can also learn how to edit as well because I can’t always rely on someone when it comes to future projects .filming this short film will be one of the group mates . it would change overtime depending on the scenes. I am not sure what     Jeni is using for her editing platform . hopefully it’s easy for her. I feel like ...

 We have now reached our second day of filming and this time we were definitely ready to film and get more than one scene finished. The last time we filmed we encountered many issues that disrupted with our filming process, one of the major issues was the fact that the mall had closed before we were able to complete any other scenes. We did manage to get a few seconds of one but it was nearly enough for us to progress thoroughly with our production process and we needed to overcome this issue immediately. We all planned to meet up at an earlier time, this time we actually checked what time the mall was going to close so with that information we estimated the amount of time we would need to film our scenes before the mall closes. We also picked a different day from what we had picked last time just to see if the crowd levels in the mall may be less overwhelming than the day we had picked, which was also a problem we were met with the last time we filmed.  Another day of production was upon us and today was a special one! Production doesn’t just mean filming your shots or editing the takes. One key aspect of production is revising and changing things that logistically wouldn’t fit within the context of the film. For example, writing a scene where the cast visits a haunted mansion would be considered unrealistic. I personally enjoy revising ideas and correcting any problems that may be encountered in the production process. Some ideas don’t make sense until you try them in person rather than on a storyboard. Because of all this, the script needed to be adjusted accordingly to make a story that is not only entertaining but can be done without issues. As students, our production budget isn’t high whatsoever and our film likely will reflect that. To prevent any unexpected costs or inconveniences, a part that was seen as too much work had to be scrapped and will likely be replaced with a more cost-friendly and feasible option. The script...

 The mall just happened to be somewhat busy today. I don't expect the same occurrence for our next time filming. It really proved to be a hinderance as we tried moving to multiple different areas around the mall to try and find a spot where not much people would be cramped up in the background of our video. Although people were in the way we still managed to almost finish one scene. The next time we arrive we should be able to finish this scene. Worst case scenario is that we would have to move to another mall to film instead. Hopefully we don't suffer from the same experience next time when trying to film. Our next filming should be more productive since transportation should be easier to get. I look forward to our next film session.

 The group was supposed to film last week for our short film but due to busy schedules and limited access to transportation, filming had to be canceled and pushed back. Since the group contains 4 people, getting everyone in one place is difficult, especially with after-school activities and parents having to work. While this inconvenience slowed production down, it was predictable and we will have to adapt to it instead. The current plan is to film this week instead. Because the production was delayed, filming must occur in a day to knock it out simultaneously, rather than scene by scene.  Despite the delay, the group was still productive in time management and discussed ideas for future filming. Another issue for the production that came up is the location. In some places, filming isn’t allowed which isn’t a situation we can do much about. In case this does occur we have planned to film in an alternate store or parking lot and improvise with the environment.

 

 The location of the short film will take place in a mall. While the specifics of the address are still uncertain, some usable and popular ideas include coral ridge mall, broward mall, sawgrass mall, etc. The schedule will likely involve us traveling to our filming location after school since we can all meet up easily, rather than on the weekends when we'd all need separate rides to and from the mall. The participants will be Melvin Amaya, Jason Pierre, Withly Pierrette, Jennifer Depaz, and potentially another person outside of the project if extra help with filming is required. Due to us filming at a mall, it can get crowded quickly, to prevent anyone from getting lost we will stick only to our designated filming locations and not wander off. Additionally, we all have each other's contact information in case of an emergency.  The Camera is a short film about a woman finding a mysterious camera. This camera takes pictures then includes a man who is not physically there. While all this is happening, there is no dialogue present and the only thing you can hear is soothing piano music. This music represents the calm tone of the film, while also complimenting the mystical and mysterious theme of the film. Instead of being the usual haunted suspenseful music we usually hear in many mystery films, we instead hear a beautiful score throughout the whole film. The lighting was all natural as most of the film occurred outside, with the inside of the house have windows in every room to continue using natural light. The costume is kept casual, as it is outside clothing. The prop of the camera is very old and big, most likely to symbolize caring for old items.  Palm rot is a mysterious film without the usage of any dialogue amongst characters. The camera work in is dynamic and visually striking, with a mix of close-ups and wide shots that capture the mood atmosphere, and shows us the location of the man. The lighting in the film is carefully crafted to create a sense of tension and unease, with shadows and highlights used to great effect. The character in Palm Rot delivered a sense of lostness along with the dynamic lighting and effects to demonstrate the confusion the man felt. The music in the short film fit each scene perfectly. The camera angles and movements in "Palm Rot" are expertly chosen and executed, adding to the film's sense of tension and drama while also remaining mysterious. The lighting in the film creates a sense of mystery and foreboding, with dimly lit scenes and dramatic use of shadows. The character in Palm Rot  conveys emotion through their facial expressions and body language as nothing is said throughout...

  This film is about a mother who is struggling to accept the fact that she is close to losing custody of her baby. With all of this going on for the mother, a mysterious woman confronts her about something much more horrid and sinister that would come forth and they’d experience quite soon. Camera angles that were most prominent and seen in this film were over the shoulder shots as seen when the mother and the woman are seen speaking to each other, medium and close up shots are also shown when we are only focusing on the mother and the actions that she does. The most common sound that was featured in this film was ambience, at the birthday party you can hear the chattering of the people in the background as well as more slightly noticeable noises like children playing and plates clattering against each other. The ambience is quite noticeable but hear over this is dialogue, while the audience can still hear the background chattering we also get an emphasis of dialogue for the conve...

This film in its entirety is about a family, as the two daughters are seen in bed they are risen to curiosity when they hear a mysterious noise come from their home. It all turns out to be their mother who was stricken with madness and these two daughters and left to fight on their own for their own safety and survival from their mother who is out for blood. The most common camera angle seen in this film was a medium angle camera shot which mostly only focuses on the upper half of one of the daughter’s body as we see the actions she takes to uncover the mystery of the sound. Tracking shots were also extremely common as we follow the same daughter getting up and walking towards the noise that was being made as she investigates, when she discovers her mother killing her father the tracking shot goes from the mother back to the daughter. These tracking shots make it look like it was all shot in one large take which really makes it look as if the audience were following the daughter right ...

  One thing that 12 Monkeys does is make it seem very dull on purpose. The short film uses a narrator with a very monotone voice to show this off. Also, the movie uses still images and adds voiceovers or other sounds to them after. This once again achieves the same goal, being to make the film detached. Le Jetee uses certain transitions to acquire a "dream-like ambiance" which helps to contrast the clean shots when characters are conversing. The film also uses audio to great effect and adds it a lot of important and disturbing imagery to amplify the visuals. An example used for this is the audio of a heart beating for a dramatic and intense scene. This helps the audience feel the intensity of the pictures being shown as if their own heart was racing. Another example of this is a slick and romantic score for a positive effect on the audience, once again enhancing the images.   One tip for making a short film that I got was to subvert expectations in your film. Subverting expectations can help make the film more unpredictable and unique to the audience. A film that has the same ideas and tropes gets repetitive and stale. This can often make it unenjoyable to watch for people. An example of this is a predictable jumpscare which viewers can anticipate it.  When the audience can anticipate it, it reduces anxiety and fearful emotions from viewers. A better alternative that was stated is to do something you wouldn't normally do, to trick yourself and the audience in the process. Another idea suggested by the video was to stick to your genre and follow it. In this case, it would be mystery for the film genre being used. An example of the mystery genre being followed would be very ominous music and shadowy figures to avoid the viewers from getting a proper description on any characters or surroundings to help build tension and confusion.   So the short film on nine was straight to the point . There wasn’t any dialogue, but you could tell that there     was a beginning, middle and end. It took me a minute to figure out the character development. then I realized after watching the trailer and a short film that they were only trying to survive.     Unfortunately one ended up not surviving.     There was some effects that made it look like an old film and had that cinema look. The impression I got from the plot is that two creations from human for trying to survive. What happened was that being in the war     caused no human to be left. The film, however, had more dialogue to it.
