Title Design

Image
For the opening credits of the film most of the text will be handwritten font and will appear on screen as some one is writing in real time, some of the other credits that don’t need to be the main focal point will fade into the screen or will be embedded into the background. Our working title of our film will most likely be "Dollie" It will either be in anyilla, sunkiss or beabella font and it will be in lowercase, it will look something like this   The title will appear on screen as if it was handwritten and it will come off screen as if it is being erased or it will fade off the screen The title will disappear after 6 or 7 seconds of it being on screen Depending on the background lighting and color, I will use bright and easy colors like pink and hot pink so it wont blend in with the background scene The people who worked on a specific role will have their names significantly larger than the title and it will look something like this: Music By: Vera Lynn

Genre Research: Happy Death Day two

Image
An element of this specific mystery film that we would like to base our final task off of is mostly the element of surprising plotlines, something that Happy Death Day 2U has a strong advantage in is the fact that the main character dies over and over again, and every time she wakes up she tries her best to survive and investigate what’s truly causing her to be stuck in this endless time loop of being stuck in the same exact day reliving the same exact moments. Having a storyline that keeps the audience engaged to find out the most unexpected outcomes can really bring a movie together and Happy Death Day truly proves what that means. Some of the elements I enjoyed from this movie was how each character had been completely rewritten compared to the first movie representing the parallel universe the main character had been put in and how this time it won’t be the same and that we have new mysteries to solve in this current sequel. Another element enjoyed was the cinematography itself an

Genre Research: hereditary

Image
This movie has elements that our group would like to include in our final task such as the tense ambience created by the mysterious entity that disturbs the family. Having a mood that puts the viewer at the edge of their seat while also trying to solve and figure out what's going on is something Hereditary does well and something our group would like to recreate into our film. Another element that inspired our film was the use of subverting the viewers expectations. This movie may make the viewer believe one thing is going on when in reality something entirely different may be happening. The unpredictable nature of Hereditary is a great base for a mystery film as mystery constantly wants the viewer confused and questioning. Some elements that we enjoyed were the nonstop tension as the family would often be arguing and constantly fighting over something they do not understand. Hereditary manages to show the reality of family struggles but also mysterious element about supernatural

Genre Research: Escape Room

Image
One element from Escape Room that we based our final task on is the creativity of the Mystery genre. Elements like the puzzle aspect of Escape Room are things we would like to have in our task which the movie does well. This movie also has good scenery which we would make with the use of props and changing locations. Good elements of this movie are the intelligence of the characters as they use all their knowledge and work together to escape the mysterious puzzles they face. Another good element of this movie are the props and constant scenery changes. Escape Room changes the location after every puzzle which keeps the movie fresh and the mystery alive as the viewers cant adjust to their current situation. Lastly, Escape Room does a great job of giving the puzzles life. When there is a new room and puzzle you can feel all the work put in the rooms and the cleverness of the puzzles An element that truly made this movie unappealing was the cliche ending that it had, the fact that the wi

Common Cams in Horror:  • Close up  • Extreme Close up • Middle Close up • Point of View (POV) • Establishing Shot Common CLAMPS in Horror • Masks • Fake Blood • Weapons • Dark Lightning • Forest/Haunted House Common Editing in Horror • Cutaway • Jump Cut • Cross-Cutting • Split-Screen Common Sound in Horror • Diegetic Sound • Non-Diegetic Sound • Incidental Music • Ambient Sound • Sound Motif • Score Examples: Halloween, Psycho, Friday The 13th, Scream, A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Saw, IT. Another element of horror that I enjoy is the versatility as Horror can leave you stunned with the amount of gore and death or can leave you questioning your sanity like the protagonist in the movie. Finally, the music is another incredible aspect of Horror

Genre Decision

Image
My Group and I have chosen mystery as out final genre decision. This genre has potential into becoming something very fun and interesting for our film. We acknowledge that it might be a bit common but the genre is probably the best and easiest choice for us to make since It’s a versatile genre meaning we can do a lot of things with it and change it to many ways. It’s also easy to do as it doesn’t require many props or money. It would be really simple, easy and we can add a lot more to it to keep our audience engaged and entertained. This genre can be a standout compared to other genres like comedy and can have the audience at the edge of their seats wanting for more since mystery can make people feel tense and still create a movie with great energy and vibes. We were debating between Drama, horror and mystery but we ended up with mystery since we believed drama is very common and the ideas we had for it weren't very original. Most drama movies leave you with cliffhangers and most

Our Pitches!

Image
Pitch One - As a man drives along peacefully, his GPS suddenly malfunctions, leading him in the wrong direction. Little does he know the way he's going is the way to his demise. This first pitch has some interesting dynamic to it, it feels straight forward and it has its uniqueness in general. However its not the most interesting because the viewers can probably predict the entire movies plot from start to finish. We want it to be something unexpected and mysterious. It also may be hard to film since it does involve driving and only one of us has a permit to actually allow us to drive. There are too many cons that come with making this pitch and it probably isn't our safest or easiest route to take. Pitch Two - A girl has a doll that enjoys playing with all the time, until one day that doll mysteriously disappears. She goes off to find it herself.  This pitch has its potential into becoming something very interesting for our film. Even though it does have a common plot line.
