Group blog


  For this project I am working in a group. I am actually required to work in a group, so I have no choice. For this project this will be my third time working with them. Jenny did the editing while me and Melvin came up with ideas and filmed. However naiara is not in our group anymore . She was a great aspect to the previous projects that we worked on. The people in my groups names are Melvin and Jenny. I feel like this group is great to work with based on my experience. Melvin is the funny one but he gets things done when he needs to.  Jeni always has everything when it comes to editing. She’s also the creative mind . I feel like we did a good job on our last project. I chose to work in a group again because I feel like doing it by myself will be a lot and because it’s required. Also I want to learn from other people instead of relying on what I know. I’ve known Melvin since middle school so I’m glad I can work with him. I don’t know if I would like to try new people in the future. But it could be a possibility. Once again, they are cool people to be around and thats what makes it fun. Anyways I look forward to working with them. hopefully it goes well.

  Based on the research we did for the blogs, we feel as though mystery will fit best for our movie. This genre really would climb as the film goes on. By the end of the film is where we find our solution or our ending. This inspired us as a whole as we are trying to create a film that has to do with suspicion. It would really draw the audience attention. I feel like our pitch really fits in with this genre. If in the future we would have to tweak it, it wouldn't be a problem. Genre Research: hereditary

 This movie has elements that our group would like to include in our final task such as the tense ambience created by the mysterious entity that disturbs the family. Having a mood that puts the viewer at the edge of their seat while also trying to solve and figure out what's going on is something Hereditary does well and something our group would like to recreate into our film. Another element that inspired our film was the use of subverting the viewers expectations. This movie may make the viewer believe one thing is going on when in reality something entirely different may be happening. The unpredictable nature of Hereditary is a great base for a mystery film as mystery constantly wants the viewer confused and questioning.
