Reflection Questions

1.      How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?

This product challenges different types of people to use different utensils that have a better quality. It allows people to have an open mind with using a gel pen instead of a regular pen. This can open up their creativity with the different writing methods. for example people that sign a contract could change up their signatures. Also students that take notes in class with pens can organize the notes with paper mate gel pens . This represents different social groups by people that work in jobs that have to do with signing papers, school, and people that write and take notes.

2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

The purpose is to tell them about a change in what you usually do which in this case is a different pen. it is also to convince them that maybe their pens that they're using today is probably not as good as paper mate gel pens.it could be distributed as a real media text by just bringing peace to your everyday lives with using a great pen. Some people are not a big fan of pens, but paper mate gel pens can maybe make them have a sort of liking of pens and using them.

3.      How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

At first I was confused on using the editing apps. the most I've ever did out of editing was edit my photos . With that being said this is mostly all new for me . At first I thought I could figure it out but then I realized I had to go through the help guide. Also when shooting I had a little bit of difficulty trying to figure out the levels of shots. Because of that I made it simple and only shot two different types of shots. I feel like I can edit videos better now that I know what I'm doing now and explore more production types such as filming in different ways. Maybe next time I could use a different app for editing. hopefully I make a lot of progress through my skills.

4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

So all of the technology I used was my laptop and my phone. I used my phone to record and to add audio to the commercial. I used my laptop to edit the commercial and add special effects and transitions. I used a few different editing apps. For example, capcut, filmora, video pad video editor, and more. I used filmora to add videos together, I used VideoPad to remove the watermark, and I used capcut to add in the audio since they weren’t working to add in the other apps. Ill have to do more research next time about different editing apps so wouldn’t have to use multiple platforms. That definitely made the process more challenging then it had to be.
