All About Me!

My name is Withly and this is my intro blog. I am in the AS level and this is my first year taking a class that has to do with filming. I usually don't take classes like these, but I wanted to try something new this year. I'm a sophomore and graduating in 2024 and hopefully getting the AICE diploma. I was born on January 16, 2006 and for my age, I think I’m very mature. I wasn't born in America but was born in Haiti. I really enjoy performing arts so I feel like this correlates in some way. Some examples of performing arts are singing and dancing. my favorite colors right now are green and pink because i feel like they're pretty colors and they compliment my skin. I feel like this commercial project will be interesting. I think that because I will able to show a lot of my skills and creativity and to also learn new things. Some ideas that popped up in my head was some hygienic brands. These brands can be soap, deodorant, lotion, and more. I fell like I can present these brands in a good way because of how impactful they are. It could be a simple commercial based on the brand. another idea is maybe an art brands. these brands can be pens, pencils, markers, and more. I can present the qualities of these brands and can do something along the lines of comparing them. I am excited to see what I can learn from this project and also to get inspired by others. Hopefully this project turns out great.

genre choice for film

  Based on the research we did for the blogs, we feel as though mystery will fit best for our movie. This genre really would climb as the film goes on. By the end of the film is where we find our solution or our ending. This inspired us as a whole as we are trying to create a film that has to do with suspicion. It would really draw the audience attention. I feel like our pitch really fits in with this genre. If in the future we would have to tweak it, it wouldn't be a problem. We weren't thinking to add dialogue at first as our idea, but it might be the thing that we need to add. As stated previously, the mystery genre has a decent popularity in films nowadays. Genre Research: hereditary

 This movie has elements that our group would like to include in our final task such as the tense ambience created by the mysterious entity that disturbs the family. Having a mood that puts the viewer at the edge of their seat while also trying to solve and figure out what's going on is something Hereditary does well and something our group would like to recreate into our film. Another element that inspired our film was the use of subverting the viewers expectations. This movie may make the viewer believe one thing is going on when in reality something entirely different may be happening. The unpredictable nature of Hereditary is a great base for a mystery film as mystery constantly wants the viewer confused and questioning. Some elements that we enjoyed were the nonstop tension as the family would often be arguing and constantly fighting over something they do not understand.
